We recognize that the Women's Centre of Montreal is located on the territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka Nation and we recognize it as its custodian. The region named "Montreal island” is identified as Tiohtiá:ke in the Kanien'kehá:ka language and is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations.
Today, with respect for the connections to the past, present, future and ongoing relationships with Indigenous Peoples, the Women's Centre of Montreal wishes to recommit itself to providing guidance and support to Indigenous women in a culturally safe environment.
