TEMPORARY Psychosocial Support Worker
35 hours per week
Want to make a difference and work for an organization committed to improving the lives of women and their families? The Center is looking for a temporary psychosocial worker for its Frontline Services (SPL) team, which emphasizes collaboration, mutual support, and sharing expertise in its practices.
Our Frontline Service brings together employees who work on various issues affecting women (poverty, violence, psychological distress, integration difficulties for newcomers, Indigenous women in urban areas, etc.). The service also offers a variety of group, educational, and recreational activities to help women build a support network.
Summary
The caseworker will be responsible for assessing needs, providing one-time interventions, follow-up, and support to immigrant women in order to give them the tools they need to meet their needs and better integrate socially.
Your contribution
Work with women facing personal, family, and economic difficulties and assess their needs;
Actively participate in recruiting clients eligible for the Integration Support and Assistance Program;
Work with immigrant women to facilitate their settlement and integration;
Refer or direct women to appropriate internal or external resources;
Provide one day of childcare;
Intervene in crisis situations (distress, violence, homelessness, etc.);
Conduct short-term follow-ups;
Lead awareness and prevention sessions on domestic and family violence in CEGEPs and universities;
Report periodically to the assistant director on the progress of interventions and results;
Participate in activities or actions related to the objectives of the Center and, more specifically, the front-line service;

Perform all other related tasks.
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in humanities or social sciences or relevant experience;
Work experience in a women's center or community setting;
Very good knowledge of the issues faced by women in general and immigrant women in particular;
Excellent crisis intervention skills;
Teamwork and collaboration;
Organizational skills and attention to detail;
Computer skills;
Fluency in French and English;
A third language is a plus
