On November 6, the Montreal Women’s Centre received the 2025 Engagement Award from the Société d’histoire du Plateau Mont-Royal, presented by Ms. Louise Harel, former Quebec government minister and the first President of the National Assembly of Quebec, jointly with the Montreal Women’s Health Centre.
The SHP wished to pay tribute to the 50 years of commitment of these two organizations to women.
The Montreal Women’s Centre, whose mission is to help women help themselves, was founded in 1973 and has been located on Saint-Urbain Street since 1975.
“With emotion and pride, we accept this award!” said Johanne Bélisle, Executive Director of the Centre since 1994.
The event took place in the presence of representatives of the SHP: Ms. Huguette Loubert, President, its Director Nathalie Bandulet, and Myriam Wojcik, as well as Ms. Maeva Vilain, city councillor.
